A Conversation With God & Self

Do I Really Know God Like I Say I Do? | PT 1

Lovasia Brice

In this episode, I share how my relationship with God first began—it felt like meeting a kind stranger. Someone who was always there when I needed Him the most. Over time, that curiosity and desire to know Him more turned into a real relationship. There was never any pressure, just my heart wanting to draw closer to Him.

But with that closeness came questions:

  • If I truly know Him, then why do I sometimes struggle to trust when He’s always been there—even before I asked?
  • If I say I love Him, why do I still doubt?
  • And if I doubt, do I really know Him the way I think I do?

These are the questions I wrestle with and answer in this episode.

Are you ready to start the conversation?

Thank you for joining the conversation.

To continue to conversation follow @LovasiaReneee_

Welcome back to another. Thank you for joining another conversation with God and self. I'm your host, Lovasia Renee. Guys, I'm so excited for you to be here. Today's episode, we are going to be diving into who is God really? Can we accept who he is or do we just accept the things that he can give us? That is going to be today's topic. So do not change that. I'm a sage candle like me on the TV. Do not touch that next button because we are about to start the conversation.

y'all y'all y'all y'all y'all y'all y'all so first of all I have something to say before we get into this little conversation name there are so many pros and cons in doing your own hair so the pro of being able to do your own hair is the fact that you can do your own hair anytime like any hairstyle that you you see you can actually like somewhat accomplish it because you know you have mastered the art of doing your own hair but the other

The other backside of doing it on here is having to do it. Like taking the time to take it out, to wash it, to condition it, to re-braid or to do whatever it is you need to do. I'm tired.

So this is why your girl got the little kid of that. I got the God Got Me cap on. This is a vintage piece of mine from when I first, first, first started my boutique. And I had it like, I would say like since 2017, no 2018 I was there. 2018, I'm gonna be here my son boy. So this hat is seven years old guys, I cannot believe it. But it's funny because I got a compliment today. I went out and I got a compliment and the girl was like, I like your hat. I was like, yeah, I made it. She was like, oh my God, you made it. I was like,

So merch might be coming soon, look out. It might be, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know. Maybe, who knows? You can't trust me. I'm always doing something. So guys, topic is going to be, I got some notes. So they are gonna be definitely referenced in my notes because I wanna be able to cover everything. ⁓ Before we dive, dive, dive in, the reason why we're even having this conversation is because this week I have...

big and tested like left and right. And it's not more so like a big testing is more so like in a certain area of my life, I am being extremely tested. And I feel like I had to ask myself, do I trust the Lord? And for me to trust him, do I know him like I think I know him? And that's where that question came about. Like, do we really know the Lord like we say we know him? And if we do, yes. sorry, I hate that. I really do. god, this one scared me when I edit.

Do we really know the Lord like we say we do? And if we do know him like we say we do, why is it hard for us to trust him? Why is it hard for us to submit certain things to him? Why is it hard for us to submit even the most, like what we believe will be simple, which is more so like our anger. I'm sorry, I would not be talking about that this episode. So like this,

is where I'm submitting him, because I'm submitting like the most simple things like my anger, my attitude, my responses. So.

Before we dabble into the conversation, we know we have to invite the big one, the biggest, the only, the holy skitties. So if you are able to please bow your heads and if you're not, just please just give me a moment of silence to able to pray over the podcast as well as those who are listening. So Father God, we thank you so much for allowing us to be here right now. I pray that the ears are listening, are able to understand this conversation in its full context. I pray that we learn here. ⁓

that what we learn here changes us. I pray that it builds more of a relationship curiosity need and hunger for you. Father God got this conversation in a way that you see fit. Allow the words to come out my mouth to go in the direction of those that need to hear it as well as myself. Father God we invite you into this space. Please be present. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. You know what that means y'all. Let's start the conversation. Alright so like I was saying

So I have, like I said, I've been going through, um, like somewhat of a test. Um, it's not, it's

It is a test. It definitely is a test. It's revealing me to me in this testing that I'm going through. And it's something that's been like a cycle in my life, ⁓ but I've always handled it in a cycle type way. And I know y'all heard the saying, if you keep doing the same thing over and over and think you're supposed to get a different result, that's considered insane. So what I've been trying to do is instead of react the same way or... ⁓

go back to my default mechanisms, which is having an attitude, holding a grudge, being self-righteous, all the things, being prideful, arrogant, all the things. I'm trying to submit it to the Lord and I'm trying to bring it to His feet rather than me take care of it. ⁓ Because I feel like sometimes when you're angry or you're emotionally not in your right mind.

⁓ you and you don't go to god i'm learning that you do sin like when we talked about in ephesians where we was like you can be angry but do not sin when you are dealing with anger by yourself And you're not seeking the lord for direction or help You will sin because to you is justifiable that person deserved it because you feel offended But in god's eyes, that's not how he wants you to handle it. So that's what i've been challenged with And it brought up the question

on

who he is and do I know exactly like who he is or do I recognize him as only what he does and before you were like girl the Lord reveals who he is based on what he does yes but sometimes we take advantage of

We take advantage of his character and what he represents just based on what he can do for us and not what he could do through us, not what he can do for like more than materialistic things, but what he could do for us by transforming us within us. Does that make sense? I hope that makes sense. So before we go any further, I do want to give you updates. We will be officially.

I'm saying we like I got a team yet, but we talk about manifestation. All right, I made a physician. ⁓ yeah I'm talking like we got a team praying for it one day one day. But anyway,

I will be uploading the audio on Spotify and Apple podcasts on Thursdays at 12 p.m. And the visual will be uploaded on podcasts on Saturdays at 3.45 p.m. Eastern Standard Time for both. So that is for those of you, you're kinda thinking like, what's going on? Usually you guys have been waiting for the visual video on Thursdays. I've switched it around because I noticed that... ⁓

There are people that are listening more than they are watching so I'd rather go to those that are listening and upload and get it to them as fast as possible rather than to those that are watching because in reality you know what I mean it's kind of the same content just when you're looking at me and when you're listening but all in together it's same thing but anyway

So we're still in the Suffering Well series, but we are actually filling out, finishing out acceptance. So this will be the last episode in the acceptance, ⁓ suffering well area of the series. will of course come back to it, but we are going to be diving into forgiveness next. So we'll be covering that. That'll be the next series under the season of Suffering Well. We'll be covering that part. So,

Today's going to be a Bible study y'all. Today is going to be a God and self conversation because what I want us to do as much as I do speak about the Lord, I need us to reflect on self because in order for the Lord to move in your life, I feel like in order for him to do anything, we have to check ourselves. We have to check our heart posture. We have to check our mindsets. We have to check like we have to check the things that we intentionally

try to avoid, try to lack accountability. Like we have to check ourselves before we wreck ourselves. Okay people? And I think what it is is a lot of Christian podcasts we're so keen of always talking about the Lord this, the Lord that, the Lord that. And don't get me wrong, please continue to speak about the Lord and continue to spread the gospel. But what we are figuring, I feel like sometimes we fail to touch on is the people that are

that needs to work on themselves to accept the goodness of the Lord. And I feel like in order to do that in a bigger context is you have to know who he is outside of what he can give you. You have to know his character. And I'm saying that because in Matthew 13, when it goes about the sower, it talks about soil. And when it comes to the soil, the soil to me represents heart posture.

It represents receiving the Lord's word based on where you are. And it speaks about how the seed fell on different soil. It fell on rocky soil. It fell, some of the seed didn't even touch the soil. It just got snatched up, right? Like it touched on

I'm trying to use my brain sales. I got the book right in front me. got the answers in front of me. ⁓ But it talks on all these things, different forms of Soyou. And to me, it made me reflect on where does my heart lie? Like where does my heart lie when it comes to Soyou? What level am I on? And when I was reading it,

Because it says, rocket ground, the one who hears the word immediately receives it with joy, but has no root. Then it says, so and then the one says, now the song among the thorns, this one hears the word, but the worries of the world and the age, deceitfulness or wealth choke the word, it becomes unfruitful, but then the one who sows on good ground. Now automatically, think sometimes not all, but I think when you lack the relationship with the Lord,

and truly knowing him because again knowing of him and knowing him is two different things that I had to learn at myself because there's a lot of things I knew of him, I knew of his goodness, I knew that he was a faith like he was faithful, I knew that he was a prince of peace, I knew these things of him but I didn't know him and when I started to know him is when I honestly I go a lot I started to really know a lot about myself as well and

When you're walking into Christianity, you're on fire. You want everyone in their momma to know you're very, like, you're very, like, I would say.

do I how can I put it? It's I can't find the word but you're very legalistic. I would say like you're very like I can't do this, I can't do that, I can't do this because the Bible comes back. So automatically you think based on the way that you approach it on fire you're on the good soil right? You receive the word, you're doing everything by the word but then when you start hating trials and tribulations which is what it speaks about, you really start getting tested on where your heart really lies when it comes to the word of God. Do you really rely on his word or do you rely on

just showing up for you in the time that you need him. So what I wanted to do is

wanted to go dive into my own personal reflection and relationship with the Lord. And not only did I want to share that via conversation, but I also wanted to share other things that I am learning currently while I am trying to learn how to accept the Lord for who He is and not just accept Him in or receive Him for what He does for me, but also in all of it, like, like in totality, right? And I say that because there are going to be seasons and there have been seasons in my life where the Lord doesn't give me anything but His

but his but his time. He doesn't give me anything but allowing me to be in his presence. He doesn't give me anything but but but but but

patience and stillness and rest like and to you you might not think that's something big because when we go to the Lord we go to the Lord in desperation when things are not going going the way that we want it to go right when you're you're you're down on your luck you're behind on your bills your car is about to be repossessed all the things is when we find desperation of the Lord but what about the seasons where you don't need nothing material but you need him ⁓

To fill a void that you've been trying to fill through an insecurity that you had since your child or since a teenager You know what I mean? You need him to cure the anger that you've been holding on the resentment you've been holding on to because you can't get past this roadblock that you keep stumbling upon because you haven't forgave you get what i'm saying like I think it's just i'm learning it's more than Than going to him out of the need of desperation when something is bad happening and it's depending on him on a day to day to be filled

by him to make sure that when I go to take a walk outside my door, when I go to take a walk when I get out of my bed, I'm still walking in a representation of him. Does that make sense? And...

Sometimes I find myself being very critical of myself because I always feel like I need reassurance and the last episode I spoke about like needing reassurance like am I doing good? I doing right? Like whoa, so I want to do first things first, but I start off as a stranger you come to love. Hear me out. I wrote these notes down because

I didn't want to miss nothing y'all. I'm so serious. I didn't want to miss nothing because what I mean I'm like currently going through this and I was literally like breaking it down.

between Bibles, like literally in my prayer closet, reading my Bible and like questions is coming to me. And then like the Holy Spirit is just like, okay, Labeja, I need you to, and I'm writing it down. So this is what I wrote down, y'all. First things first, God starts off as a stranger. You come to love, hear me out. Often a stranger will do something from the kindness of their heart and you would never see or hear from them again. No pressure of needing to give anything back but gratitude for their kind gesture.

similar to a stranger. If you are not someone who was brought up in a church, this is what your relationship will seem like. I was someone that was not brought up in a church. I didn't go to church every Sunday. I'm going to be really honest, my family from what I know, they was Catholic. My grandmother was Catholic and I would go to Catholic church. I would go to, I don't even know what call it, but I would go to the church on Easter Sundays and we would get like a cross of ash on our forehead and she would get like these plant straws that she would make crosses out of and that was it.

And I don't know what they are. If you do, please put it in a comment. I wasn't brought up in it. I will pop up in it every now and again. So to me, my first introduction to the Lord was like a kind stranger. I didn't really know him. I knew of him.

And what I needed him the most, he came into the gesture. That's like, if you're sitting in a grocery store, you're on the line, right? You go to open your bank account, Apple done robbed you of like $20 that you didn't know they needed. And you're literally in the middle of the line. It's embarrassing to put the food back. Someone who's behind you sees like, you're a little hesitant, you're second guessing and they pay it for you. You say thank you. That person goes about their business. You'll never see them again. You just know.

There was a day when you needed something and someone that you never knew you never talked to Literally showed up for you. And that's a story a testimony that you tell other people That's how I feel the introduction to the Lord was Because there were times where I needed and I didn't even know I needed him but I needed him and he showed up and He showed up like

Lake period, show up and that was it. Like and I remember I told you the stories of me being like five years old like going around looking for my grandma. The Lord was with me because a five-year-old little girl walking around in the projects and any type of

state, city environment, that's terrifying. Like, we don't even let our kids spend a night at other people's house. So imagine a five year old girl walking the streets, not even like streets, but walking around the projects, looking for her grandmother at a young, young age. So I say all that to say, that was my first introduction, right? But then when the stranger comes around frequently, you start to get to know a little bit more about them. ⁓ like, and that's like the that's like,

heard of like the town hero or like a person who was always kind and like everyone kind of knew about them like Mr. Charlie, Mr. Charlie like let's say he worked at like the supermarket and he was always so kind to the customers he would help people to their car he would give little kids a dollar if someone needed something they could call him Mr. Charlie because he was like the town hero

or just you know the helpful man or whatever. That's how the Lord is to many people. He's a guy, he's the person that and I say person because he's a living God and what I'm trying to do is I'm trying to help under I'm trying to help the person who's either a non-believer or new to Christianity understand it in a way that they can understand it. All right so ⁓

That's how the Lord is. He pops in whenever you need Him, but He doesn't pressure you to get to know Him. Does that make sense? Like, I never felt the burden, like I felt the burden and the yearning to know Him because I felt like I was feeling as a person without knowing who He was. Like knowing that His goodness wasn't enough, I needed to know Him. Like knowing what He could do for me wasn't enough for me anymore. After a while, it just wasn't enough. Like when I was in desperation and He coming through,

I wanted more. became so curious and so hungry for his presence because like, huh? Like, how come every time I need you, you show up? But there's no pressure after that. Like there's no pressure of like, it's still choice. Like I'm still gonna love you my child, I'm still gonna show up for you, I'm still gonna, but there's no pressure for you to know me. There's like no pressure. It's not even a pressure for you to honestly be saying thank you. And I never felt that. But my hunger, my curiosity, my

yearning to want to know who are you Lord like who are you and me knowing you can I learn to love you can that turn into trust because I'm like I know this man ⁓

But do I really? Because if I really, when you really know someone, don't you love them? And when you love them, don't you love all of them? And when you love all of them, don't you trust them? Right? And that's what I was battling with. Because if I know him, and I love him, why am I battling with trusting him? Do I really accept him?

in all his forms and the part where he's going to discipline me, the part where he's going to agree, the part where he's not going to agree, the parts where he's going to say no to me, the parts where he's going to say yes to me, the part where he's not going to answer me. Like, am I going to accept him in the relationship we're going to build? Can I accept him in all the answers I will receive and all the answers I might not? And that was y'all.

That's what I was battling with. So, give me a second.

Okay, I just want to make sure we're rolling. Okay, sorry y'all. I just got to make sure I'm high. Okay. So before, before, okay, so now we're about to dive in y'all. I'm sorry, I had to get it off my chest. But we are about to dive in. Okay. Now, somebody's not gonna like me when I say this. I'm not sorry. I'm tired of, I'm sorry. I'm not sorry, but I'm sorry.

But I'm not sorry, it's just, it goes with the flow of what I'm trying to get with. But every time I've been going on social media now when it comes to like, golly content creators, everyone says the word God, God, God, God, God, God. But in a lot of other religions, they also use the word God. But they also have other nicknames that describes their God, right? So Muslims has Allah, ⁓ people that are Buddhist has Buddha. ⁓

Other people got different nicknames for their deities. I'm you like that. When it comes to my Lord, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, when it comes to Jehovah Jireh, Elohim, Yahweh, El Shaddai, Adonai, Jehovah, Raphael,

That's how I know who you talking about. Cause everybody be saying God. Everybody be out here, God this, God that, belief God this, God that. Who and what God you talking about? You talking about my God? Cause my God got other names that you can identify who he is. Just by you saying his other names, I would know who you talking about. And moving forward, if I'm looking at content and all you saying is the generalization of the word God.

you're not specifying exactly the God you are speaking about because my God Jesus Christ he has he comes with many names that represents his different characteristics. I will be scrolling because I don't know what type of God you mess with and I don't want to get caught up in that sitting there watching that you talking about a whole nother God they got nothing to do with my Lord, Savior, Jesus Christ.

period. Sorry I had to say it. If you made your booty tight, sorry about that. Not sorry. ⁓ But yeah, I literally had to say that because every time I get on social media, I'm literally seeing like a new reel, a clip, something that they just were like, God, this, God, this, God, that. Like, he has other names. What God are we talking about?

Which one you talking about? Because I know who I'm talking about. I know who I believe in. Which one you believe in? Because they all use the generalization of the word, but he has other names that describes his character. Like his characteristics, who he is, all the things. So, ⁓ first and foremost, I want to speak on the God that is tied to Christianity.

He is a part of a Trinity. He is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. So, like I said, we gonna be in Bible study, y'all. So I hope you got your Bible app, you got your Bible, or you about to write these little scriptures down and then I'm gonna need you to go and read them. Because what I'm not gonna do is we not gonna play about this. if we are going to, especially for those that are the beginners, because this is exactly what this podcast is targeted to, is for the beginners in Christ.

If you are serious about your walk with getting to know God, you have something called a Bible that literally is your cheat sheet that tells you exactly what you need to know. So we're go Bible study. Stay tuned. All right, so first Peter six through seven. So we're gonna go to that. I know your girl still learning her pages. I just, I ain't gonna lie. I just be flipping.

Swift-O, I be flipping y'all. I just flip and then I try to remember who who's before and after based on what I'm where I'm going but I flips y'all. just be flipping. I don't be knowing like the the actual like numbers to the pages. I just be flip flip flip. So first Peter six through seven. Of course I've highlighted it because I'm a highlight queen. So it says read.

You rejoice in this even through, so I'm gonna read it. I'm actually gonna read five through seven because it just makes sense. ⁓ So it says, you are being guarded by God's power through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. You rejoice in this even though now for a short time if necessary, you suffer grief and various trials.

So for what that tells me, right, because remember I want to go over each of the trinities and then as I'm doing that I'm going to connect the scripture that kind of not explains but it gives you an understanding of each of the trinities and why they are. mind you, I'm not an expert in this. I'm literally doing this in real time and I'm also putting my intellect and my understanding in real time. So save your judgment for another day. Keep it saying.

So what we're going to be doing is we're going to be connecting scripture towards one of the trinities and basically try, I'm gonna try my best to help you understand as I'm understanding in real time. So, 1st Peter, actually five through seven, we just read. Ami present means everywhere. So you rejoice in this even though now for a short time if necessary, you suffer grief in various trials, but you don't do it alone.

Because what was given to you was the Holy Spirit who's omnipresent, meaning he is always with you. When you call upon him, he will come. He is with you. He's able to be with you in every, he's able to be with you, your cousin, your sister, your brother, your dog. He's able to be everywhere because he's omnipresent. He's everywhere. He is currently with you. Right? So that's God being able to be present in your now, depending on what you're doing.

suffering, ⁓ trials tribulations, challenges, testing, all the things right and this is accepting all of him because all the and this is me just speaking and holy spirit if this is you I thank you in advance and that or if this is my own intellect

But I think depending on the season you are, is it characteristic of God that will show up. The Holy Spirit will always be present, right? But I think it's what Trinity do you tap into regarding God's characteristics, depending on where you are in the season, right? So when it comes to Omni present, which is everywhere.

Holy Spirit, you are never alone in anything that you go through in this life. You are never by yourself and there's the enemy will try to convince you that you are by yourself but you're never by yourself because as long as you call on the Holy Spirit and you trust that the Lord will show up, he will. Yeah and that's what I got so far. Next we're go to Psalms 139-13.

And I've been going to Psalms lately, a lot, I've been up in there, I've been up in there and they be in there talking. And it's funny because I got right to it. So Psalms 139, 13, it says, for it was you who created my inward parts. You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will praise you. Right? So that goes into

Omnip, Omnificent? Omnificent, yes. Omnificent, which is all knowing. So what we need to understand is even though Holy Spirit is everywhere with us, He is also all knowing, meaning He has no limitations on His knowledge like we do. We have limitations. We can understand to a certain ECH which is why you need the Holy Spirit who is everywhere to give you understanding and provide you with clarity because

for a Lord that's unknowing into a human that doesn't know all. It's a little tricky over there. So this is the things that I was learning as I was asking these questions. And I came to God the Father, who is all-knowing. God the Father is all-knowing. Hence why we call Him, He knows all. ⁓

And it's nothing that you ever went through that he like, he knows you and this is where that saying goes, Lord will never put you through nothing you can't handle because he knows what you can handle. Because in the passage it says for it was it was you who created my inward parts you knit me together my mother's room meaning before I was a thought. When I was an embryo before I was even that when I was a cell.

and my mama body when I was an egg, you knit me. You created my inward parts. You put me together. So you know, you know all. You know what I'm gonna go through. You know my setbacks. You know my weaknesses. You know all. So when you feel like again, you're in a situation or trial, not only are you not alone,

but you're not the only one that feels the way you feel. Cause there is a God that not only knows all, but he knows all of you. It says in the Bible that the hairs on your head is counted. And what was that? I think, is it Psalms?

Hold on, because it was something in Psalms I want to go to because I literally went over it too. ⁓ And I was just, it was basically explaining how the Lord, he knows all of you from the moment that you was created in darkness of your mother's womb, he created you, he knows all, right? And.

think it just goes to show sometimes we think we're the only ones going through it. Sometimes we think we're the only ones being tempted. Sometimes we think that the Lord doesn't understand what we're going through. So sometimes we guard our hearts to Him and we don't come to Him honestly. Like that's what I'm learning. I'm learning to show up honestly now. Like I'm learning to whatever I'm gonna get, I'ma just show up. Lord, I...

this morning. I didn't want to pray to him. I'll be really honest and I literally sat down in my prayer closet. I was talking and I said you know what, I don't want to pray. I don't even know what to pray about. I walked out my closet. I went on my phone. I saw something with Jackie O'Perry and Princeton was like oh something something. I walked back into my prayer closet like I still don't want to talk to you but we're do this thing. I'm gonna read some script. Actually I'm gonna just write it out and I just wrote to him like I just and I explained I said right now this moment I don't feel like speaking to you but Jackie O'Perry

said something very important she was like you have to acknowledge who he is like you still have to identify who he is and I said that's exactly what I'm doing right now I still have to acknowledge who he is despite my emotions saying I don't want to be bothered because that's just that's his pain but he knows his child you know what mean like he knows me he knows that there are gonna be times I'm gonna be shut off and then he knows I'm actually challenging and I'm dying against my flesh

just so I can be like I can learn how to build better relationship with him. The next one, omnipotent, all powerful, right? So we have the Holy Spirit, God the Father, all powerful, So that's John one through four. And I know we hitting it y'all, I y'all.

But y'all, like what I mean in real time, in real time, your girl's literally learning how to die to flesh. She's really learning how to submit and accept and deal.

don't even know what half. All right, so John, when it comes to all powerful, it says in the beginning was the word

and the word was God, no sorry, sorry, and the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. He was with God in the beginning. All things was created through him and apart from him. Not one thing was created that has been created in him was life and that life was the light of men. So when I think about it, right, in the beginning, right, was the word.

And the Word was with God. Who was with God? That would be Jesus Christ, wouldn't it be? Because he was his son, right? And the Word was God. So he was with God in the beginning. Who is he?

Who was he? See, and that's sometimes what you have to do for those of you that be like, I've been reading the Bible, I don't get it. Start asking questions. ⁓

And go to the resources. I have the Tony Evans commentary book. ⁓ the Bible app I've been using sometimes if I if I don't want to read and I want to visualize it the Bible app. No, Project if I want to watch something. ⁓ but it's so it's so much resources out there now. They did not have this back in the day. They did it. But the fact that we have these things and we still refuse to just sit down and just read. He was with God in the beginning. Who is he?

Jesus Christ, he was there in the beginning and that's just crazy because he was all powerful. He was down on earth healing things. Like are you sick?

can't see come here let me me help you let me let me help you oh paralyzed get up and walk i got you um leprosy touch um bleeding for 12 years no problem just touch my garment i got you servant um died okay hold on you said i don't even got to be there okay go home he's good like oh she's sleeping touch hand get up child um oh she's all right she starts serving like my god

just doing things but even outside of the of Jesus Christ who was ⁓ God in human form, he still works miracles. He still works miracles.

2000 plus years later. So what that brought me to because I have an app it's called the Bible. I think it's called the Bible. It's a Bible chat. I think that was the book. Um, I'll actually put the link in below of the the resources that I use. I will literally put the link below so you guys can go ahead and download those apps. No, I don't get paid. No, I'm not affiliated with any of them. But I do want to help you understand exactly um, no, I do want you to know exactly the resources that are out there that can actually help you understand

and ⁓ provide clarity. Also, thing is community. Community has definitely helped me with my understanding, breaking down the Bible, going over scriptures. So if that's something you're interested in, being a part of community where you want to meet people exactly where you're at, you don't want to be pressured to do more than what you feel is in your capacity, you want sisters that can encourage you and cheer you on. I currently have a community called the Safe Space Community and I will be putting that link down below in the description.

if that is something you're interested in. It is currently a free community to where we meet up bi-weekly on Zoom and we break down Bible scriptures. We also talk about our personal like struggles of what we're going through. We pray for each other, we cry with each other, we laugh with each other, we celebrate each other and it's literally a safe space community that is just about women that are all on different walks of life but our one common love is the Lord Jesus Christ. So if that's something you're interested in, make sure you click the link in bio. I would definitely leave it there for you. ⁓

But...

back to the show. so as I was reading this, though, I came across I remember I literally went into the chat and I was like, give me give me the names and the meaning of

that describe Jesus, like the many names that describe him. And it literally gave me it. I came across Jehovah-Jireh, which is God will provide, Elohim, which is God, all powerful, almighty, Yahweh, which is actually Lord in all caps, which equals external existence. Meaning that he lives outside of the stars. Like he lives like,

Again, his existence and his just his just him in a general sense. It's beyond our own like understanding. El Shaddai, God Almighty Adonai, which is also Lord, but it means master. Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals.

El Elion. I'm gonna pronounce it like that. I don't know if that's how it's said but that's the way my brain is interpreting it. If it's wrong please correct me. The Most High God. Jesus which is Yeshua. The Lord Saves. Christ Anointed One. Emmanuel God is with us. Son of God signifies his divine nature and his unique relationship with God the Father. Lamb of God referring to God as the perfect sacrifice. The Good Shepherd. Jesus' care and guidance for

is

following. So and also the way the truth and the life he is exclusive, he is an exclusive path to pathway to God, the source and that's where John 14 six will come in. Yeah, what I mean I was writing down notes, your girl was not playing. Okay, I wasn't playing because I'm like, I need to get to know and if I need to know, my people need to know, we all need to know, right? So 14, let me see, six.

So this is John 14 6 says I am the way the truth and the life no one comes to the father except through me if you know me you will also know my father from now on you do know him and have seen him meaning his father was in him which was god was in jesus which was jesus was a god in human form which means that in order for you to get to my father you have to acknowledge me that's like a regular person going on who are you if you want to see my

father who are you? gotta identify yourself. I'm his daughter. So okay, you gotta know you don't know me. Okay, then you can't see my father because you don't know me. Like is that protection? But again, that's where I get it. And again, I want you to read these for yourself because what I believe the Holy Spirit does with him being in your presence, as he will reveal to you the things that you need to learn on that passage that will help you and connect and or build that relationship between you and the Lord. Someone else's interpretation or understanding of the Lord in their way.

Before we go, because I'm have to wrap this up because my kid is kidding. ⁓ But before we wrap this up, I just hope that the paint, I was able to really hit some things during this episode and this conversation. But I just wanted to have an open world conversation on like it currently like where I am, where you might be, and how can we move on from here? Like we don't have to stay here, but how can we move on? What can we do to?

to just be 1 % better in our work with Christ, 1 % better in investing in our relationship with him, right? So what some notes that I did write down was, I feel like sometimes your pain taints your vision.

I'm actually, think why this conversation is so important because there have been times where my pain has tainted my vision of who I thought God was. Because sometimes when you're not familiar with the person, their character, God and who he is, sometimes you pre, you assume, you predict a view, a way of feeling about said.

about said deity without taking the time to really get to know him and understanding that. And I think what it is is when you quote certain parts of the scripture is easier said than done because it's easy to quote something rather than to live it.

right? It's easy to quote and say no matter what the Lord is good and he's always working out things for for the good of those or the Lord is good and he's always going to work out for your good or he's always going to work out for his good and it's easy to say that but to live it especially when you're in a area of your life where you are fighting tooth and nail

and nothing seems to be going right, it's hard. But when you know someone, let's like you know someone that keeps their word and no matter what they always come through, even in the battlefield, you know at the end of the day, that person said they gonna come through, they gonna come through. You don't gotta, you don't gotta put too much worry into it. And I think the reason why we put so much worry into it is because we really do not know God like we claim we do. We know a lot of him. We know a lot of him, but we do not know him. And I think knowing him,

and be able to really represent his character and really be able to spread the gospel and be a disciple is spending intentional time with him while also dying to things of your flesh and self to allow him to come in more and to live in you because he said God is in but to live in you so you could represent him. Does that make sense? I think that makes sense.

But yeah, I think that's really what it is. ⁓ I think the names represent him as a whole. These aren't personality traits. Every single name represents who he is. It's not one day he's this. No, that's all of him. Those are just the many names. It's like you have a nickname. Those are the many names that he has that that that introduces people to who he is as a whole like whole deity. It's not

one minute he says he don't change. He's not a chameleon y'all. He doesn't change and I think by having that understanding that one he stays the same no matter what but he also shows up

and these names that represents who he is as a whole. He is God Almighty. He is El Shaddai. He is our Master. He is the Lord who heals. He's the Most High, right? But he is Yeshua. He is Jehovah Jireh because he always will provide, right? He is Emmanuel. God is with us because while I'm present, the Holy Spirit is always with us.

I know I'm gonna come back to this ⁓ episode. I know there's gonna be a part two, because I feel myself rambling, but I just hope I'm getting a message across. I hope I'm hitting the point that I needed to hit. I know I'm like well over an hour, so we have to because we are over time, but...

I pray that this episode resonated with you. I pray that it made some sense. I pray that it gave you some clarity, some context. I pray that this also makes you want to run to your Bible, open it and start reading the very chapters we went over. And I will be putting that in the description as well if you don't catch it on the screen when I go to edit.

But guys, was a conversation, it was. And I want to thank you so much for joining this conversation. Keep it going. Continue the conversation even when we are done with this one, because it needs to be had. ⁓ So thank you so much for joining this conversation. Make sure you join us in the next conversation. This is your girl, Lovasia  enée, and this is Conversation with God and Self. I'll see you in the next one. Bye!
